Arrive without face makeup. I’ll clean your face before injecting Botox® with a very fine needle.

You may need injections in several different areas, depending on what we are treating. I may ask you to move the muscles in your face to help find the best place for the injections.

You may feel some temporary discomfort from the needle, but it’s totally bearable and over quickly. The needle is so fine that some people don’t feel it at all in certain areas of the face.

Avoid drinking any alcohol for at least 24 - 48 hours after Botox. Alcohol causes your blood vessels to dilate and widen increasing the risk of bruising.

Avoid strenuous exercise, extreme heat, i.e saunas, steam rooms and any exposure to UV rays and sunbeds.

Avoid facial massages and electrical stimulation of the face for the next 2 weeks.

Avoid wearing tight caps or garments on the injection area.

Results aren’t immediate. It takes 2 or 3 days to start working, and 2 to 3 weeks before you’ll see the full effect. Everybody has different muscle strengths, For example, someone who is more expressive will have more dynamic muscles. Men’s muscle groups are typically stronger than women’s so they usually need more toxin.

The effects usually last for about 3 to 4 months. You should wait 3 months before having more Botox® injections in the same area.
