Great skin is not just down to good genes - your skincare routine has a big impact on what you see in the mirror. The more care you take of it, the better it will look. Here are my recommendations for gorgeously, glowing skin.

Laying the foundations

A deep cleansing and nourishing facial provides a great base for your at-home skincare routine

I would always recommend starting with an Ultimate Glass Facial, it’s a luxurious, yet results-driven facial that’s favoured by red carpet celebrities. It’s been designed to deeply exfoliate your skin, remove dead skin cells and vellus hair, flush out toxins and increase natural collagen production and cell turnover. It’s suitable for all skin types and utilises organic and clinically proven ingredients that feed and nourish your skin. The bonus is that it increases the absorption of any active ingredients applied by up to 80%.

The facial includes a medium peel, dermaplaning, mesotherapy and an LED treatment. The results speak for themselves – brighter, more even, glowing skin, increased hydration, tighter and firmer skin, and a reduction in pigmentation and scarring. One of my lovely clients, Jill (below) has a medium chemical peel and microneedling every 6 weeks and follows a Medik8 skincare routine I prescribed for her skin. I think the results speak for themselves. Microneedling involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. I use a Dermapen, the needles slightly rotate and open up pores and puncture the top layer of the skin to trigger skin rejuvenation. The skin effectively repairs itself by generating collagen and elastin, which stimulates growth, leaving the skin refreshed and rejuvenated.

Microneedling is a great treatment to combine with a chemical peel. Microneedling tightens the skin, promotes scarless healing and improves the appearance of scars, acne scarring, stretch marks, wrinkles and pigmentation. It’s a fantastic preventative treatment as the increased collagen helps to slow down the ageing process. Chemical peels penetrate deep down into the dermis for longer-lasting results. They help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, pores, acne, acne scarring, excess oil, excess dryness, combination skin, pigmentation, rosacea, sun damage, melasma, ageing and rough texture. Peels stimulate collagen and elastin production, giving a hydration boost that improves elasticity, and evens out skin tone resulting in a glowing complexion.

Now for the maintenance…

There is so much you can do at home to maintain and improve your skin tone, texture, elasticity and firmness.

I love Medik8 products, they form the basis of my own beauty routine and I recommend them to all of my clients. Understanding your skin and knowing what it is you want to target is the first step. It could be fine lines and wrinkles, or blemishes and discolouration.

Medik8’s skincare regime is based on CSA; vitamin C and sunscreen by day, and vitamin A by night.

The perfect morning and evening routine

Cleansing
In the morning use a light cleanser to gently remove oils produced overnight, leaving your skin prepared for your morning skincare. In the evening remove eye makeup with a gentle eye makeup remover. You may want to double cleanse your face, particularly if you wear heavier make-up, to ensure your skin is thoroughly cleansed.

Toner
A light sweep of a direct acid toner to gently exfoliate the complexion.

Serum
Depending on your specific skincare concern, this could be a peptide or a booster serum.

Moisturiser
Your daytime moisturiser should contain an SPF of at least 30, I like to use an SPF50. Use a richer cream overnight to nourish and rejuvenate your skin as you sleep.

Tip
With any skin-care product, apply in order of consistency — from thinnest to thickest. For example, cleanser, toner (if you use it), serum, and then moisturizer.

When you book any treatment with me I would be very happy to prescribe a Medik8 skincare plan for you. Here’s to getting your glow on!
